How accurate should the outbreak location be?
It is up to the countries to decide with which accuracy they wish to report. This is not defined in the Codes. However, considering that countries are reporting in order to be transparent so that third countries can take risk-based decisions, reporting accuracy should be sufficient enough to allow so.
For example, if an outbreak is located near the border with another country, there would be little sense to locate this outbreak in the middle of an administrative division. If the exact coordinates are not available or cannot be made publicly available, an estimate can be provided and the field "approximate location" should be ticked for this purpose.
